WHAT IS IT?

Our SeaClimate system creates a microclimate similar to that found in salt caves or at the beach. Replicating this ionised environment is a key aspect of salt therapy treatments. Salt is a natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antihistamine and horses having trouble with breathing, allergies or skin irritations can experience significant and lasting symptom relief following regular equine salt therapy. Salt therapy provides a natural, non-invasive and drug free therapy for performance horses in all disciplines.

The fine salt particles emitted into the salt therapy chamber are inhaled, acting directly on the airways. Mucus is broken down, leading to clearer airways from the first session. Once in the lungs, the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory action or the salt works to treat conditions of the upper and lower respiratory tract including COPD and seasonal allergies.

DIFFERENCES & BENEFITS

of Dead Sea Salt & Oxygen Therapy over standard milled salt therapy

  • It's much more hygienic, as we use a medically approved, sterile Dead Sea salt solution, which comes in a sealed container and which doesn't get contaminated when inserting into the nebuliser. Dry salt however, can easily get contaminated when being poured into the milling machine.

  • Dead Sea Salt has a high concentration of magnesium, which is proven to aid relaxation, therefore helping airways to widen improving oxygen intake. Dry milled salt is just 100% salt, which can be quite harsh on the sensitive airways and skin, sometimes causing irritation.

  • Dead Sea salt has proven properties to help with a variety of respiratory and skin conditions. It is being used to treat COPD, Asthma, Allergies, Eczema, etc. in humans and animals.

  • Nebulising the Dead Sea salt brine produces a dry mist, which does not leave condensation or salt dust behind, unlike milled salt, which collects on the floor and other surfaces.

  • The Dead Sea salt mist can be further enriched through our concentrated and de-ionised oxygen, raising oxygen levels in the blood for enhanced performance, concentration and healthier organs.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

How does it work?

The fine salt particles emitted into the salt therapy chamber are inhaled, acting directly on the airways. Mucus is broken down, leading to clearer airways from the first session. Once in the lungs, the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory action or the salt works to treat conditions of the upper and lower respiratory tract including COPD and seasonal allergies.

Is it just for respiratory issues?

Although salt therapy was initially used to treat respiratory conditions, it was soon discovered that it can be of great benefit to those suffering from skin problems. Whilst inhaled salt particles become absorbed into the bloodstream and work from the inside, during a session salt also settles on the horse’s coat.

This is absorbed by the skin, helping to treats problems, such as sweet itch and mud fever, by killing bacteria and reducing irritation through its anti-inflammatory properties.

SeaClimate can also benefit otherwise 'healthy' horses by increasing lung function, promoting healthier skin and coat, and increasing general wellbeing. It has also be shown to be greatly beneficial after heavy work or competitions by aiding the recovery process. Older equine athletes may also benefit from salt therapy as the anti-inflammatory treatments can help to combat the effects of ageing on the muscles and joints.

We use the highest possible calculated dose (this may vary depending on certain ailments) giving your horse the maximum benefit from their session and the best possible value for money.

What a great experience!! Our pony already has a spring in his step! My daughter rode last night and no coughing nor heavy breathing so this has definitely been beneficial and we will continue to do this as and when.Thank you to graham so good with the horses, and very professional service

I can’t recommend Rhoden Rehabilitation highly enough. My horse suffers from seasonal COPD and having used inhalers and steroids for the past three years I decided to try the salt therapy treatment to try to help him during this difficult time. He has just finished his first 3-session course and he appears brighter already. Time will tell when we go into the pollen season but I will not hesitate to get in touch with Rhoden for help if needed. My experience with Rhoden was first class and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending them. Thanks Raeane and Graham. All reactions:33
